They're sayin' Hussein is gonna respond in a positive way to the resolution - but I don't trust that maniac any further than I could throw him. Wish they'd just get rid of his ass without gettin' into an actual war - but chances of that are slim to none I suppose.

I just don't get why they're so anxious to get rid of Hussein when Iran and Syria and probably some others are MUCH bigger threats. Saddy has a grudge against us, but some of these other kook countries HATE US!!

Wellllll...wish I could remember the details, but what I recall hearin' (this was when Bush was givin' Congress the reasons Hussein needed to go), was that he had a lot more involvement in Al Queda, etc., and possibly/probably 9/11 than anyone realized before. This was "intelligence" stuff, so we weren't given much in the way of details, but those from Congress who had been against gettin' into it with Iraq/Hussein sure changed their minds.....most of 'em anyhow.

Personally, I'm just afraid of the man - he's a damn maniac! He's hell bent on developing nuclear weapons.....and he's used biological/chemical weapons on his own people. And I do believe he hates us too, and always will. He's real good at becoming "invisible" when things he's helped to instigate, like 9/ll happen.

I'm sure those others ya mentioned hate us too - but there's also the fact that Saddam has thumbed his nose at the previous UN resolution for years now. Unless I'm confused, Syria did vote for this recent resolution, making it unanimous, which kinda surprised most everybody.

I dunno the answers though - but apparently, according to intelligence, he's the biggest threat we have to worry about for now. At least the most obvious threat. But I doubt if he'll be the only, or the last one we end up havin' to deal with [img]frown.gif[/img]

I'm not itchin' for a war - I'd much rather things be taken care of peacefully. I just don't know if that's possible, especially where he's concerned. And it's not just us he's a threat to, it's our allies too. He's just too crazy to have the kind of weapons he's determined to have. If he'd willingly get rid of 'em, I'd be a happy camper! I'm with you on no more of our soldiers gettin' killed! That's why I WISH it could be handled peacefully. But even now, he's still got 'em firin' daily at our planes that are patrolling over the "no fly zone" over there - one of these damn days they're gonna hit one. He just won't quit!

I'm pretty much against attacking the bastards. Live and let live. Not that much a threat, let them suck each other's cocks and all but WW3 is something I wouldn't want to see in my lifetime. Iraq's also been stockin' up on two other drugs that are antidotes for nerve gas - they're sayin' so he can protect his troops in case he uses the nerve gas in the field if there's war.

I don't think Hussein will EVER hand over all those weapons he's been developing and storing - we already know he's got them hidden all over Iraq and Rummy said some are so far underground the only way they'd be found would be by way of defectors!

I sure hate to see a war - but I can't realistically see any way it's NOT gonna happen [img]frown.gif[/img]
